2001 Honda Accord SE VTEC Executive
Hello All, Can someone PLEASE point me in the right direction, the engine management light has come on and I was told to change the front O2 Lambda Sensor, So I ordered part from Honda and got it the next day had it replaced and the light is still on, I was then told by this garage that its prob definately the bottom one, so I have ordered that on line coz its a bit cheaper, if I replace that and the light stays on after resetting by taking battery leads, what shall I do??The diagnostic codes showed as P166 and P167.
Do you think by having diagnostic done from Honda for £75 plus vat is a good option and do they actually pinpoint the fault.
Please guide me I am a new member and only joined on 19/02/2008.Also the sensor i bought from Honda has a very very tight plastic clip on the wires about few centimetres away from the sensor, is this clip suppose to stay there an what is it. Also is it okay to drive around with both sensors changed and light still on.I looked at the sensor under neath the car and the sensor and the plug are joined in the middle without any clips or tape just wire to wire joined by twisting with hand. Please please guide me as i am ataxi driver and am losing livelihood coz not driving at moment so that i dont cause further damage.

Welcome to HAF ....... this is the purpose of the "New Member Area" ...... just to say hi.
The help portion should be in the "General Help" section. Here are the code definitions .... assuming that you are missing a "1"
P1166 Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System Electrical
P1167 Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System
I'm sure a tech will chime in soon enough.
