2001 Honda Accord SRS Light
How do you reset the SRS system?
I bought a 2001 Honda Accord 4 cyl auto with 150,000 km a few weeks ago and it runs great with no warning lights or codes. I installed a timing belt, alt and power steering belt. Then I installed a car starter keyless entry and alarm combo as well as satellite radio and heated front seats. All was well until I installed a new set of headlights with LED high beams and HID lows. The Daytime running lights did not get along with the new LED's so I did some testing around the Mitsuba running light relay. In the end i decided to just pull a running light fuse from the drivers fuse panel. (forums say this kills only drl)
I pulled the wrong fuse with the engine running and it stumbled and threw a code. It also set the SRS light on steady.
I ran the codes and reset them. SRS still on.
I put the fuse back and disconnected the battery SRS still on.
I disconnected the battery and connected the +- terminals of the car and left it for 15 minutes. You guessed it SRS light still on.
Can I shut it off or do I need to pay the dealer to run it and shut it off?
Thanks all
Jeff

Thanks.
I searched as you described and found a post which described the process. I also searched you tube and found a video of the process. With ignition off you short a yellow two wire connector at the drivers fuse box then wait until the light goes out disconnect wait till light comes back on then short again. SRS light flashes twice and goes out. Problem solved.
CAUTION it is the smaller yellow two wire connection parked in the fuse panel not the larger two wire yellow connector. I did the wrong one first and nothing bad happened (LUCKY LUCKY).
