Check evap cannister, vent shut valve, and hoses to same. You'll need a shop manual to perform correct diagnostics. Suggest an emanual from automanualsource on ebay, $21.99.

good luck

You can also go to a shop and have them smoke test it and find where the smoke leak out, then there's your leak. Could be the gas cap, vent shut of valve and solenoid.

It may be the evap bypass solenoid valve. Refer to TSB:

P1456 would be the code if it was your gas cap, or the fuel tank.

P1457 is for the canister system. Read this post.

Post update

Here's an update. So I put in a vent shut valve and a new canister, together they were like 58 bucks and some change. My local dealer even stocks them. Things had been fine until today, I got the code again. I think my next step is to put a bypass valve in.

Final update.

It has been 5 weeks and no code, I'm sure I got it taken care of. Redbull-1 you were right. After putting in a Bypass Solenoid I have not had any problems. Cost was $79 at the dealership.

Thank You for the responses. This forum helped more than the dealership did!

I got code 90(1456/1457) but have no way of seeing which it is. Im going to buy the bypass solenoid valve and if that doesnt do it im going to return it. Hopefully it does.
