Question 2002 Engine removal? Top or Bottom?

I have a 2002 Honda Accord that needs an engine swap. I've changed engines on a 1985 Civic before and lifted it through the top. Can I pull engine with auto transmission through the top?

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes you can. Unless you have a lift I personally think it will be easier to take it out the top. Come to think of it I think even if I had a lift I'd still take it out the top.

Thanks. I don't have a lift and was wondering if it was even possible to come out through the top. Any hints or tricks I need to know?

You'll need an engine hoist obviously. Also recommend a leveler to go with the hoist, you have to tilt the engine quite a bit so the transmission is lower than the engine.

Axles can be a royal pain if they haven't been removed recently.

Have a few beers on hand.
