this is worth a shot. jack up the car, pull the wheel and the sensor out, get a can of brake clean and stick the nozzle down the hole and spin the hub/rotor assy while you blast the brake clean...wear goggles and a radiation suit just in case (at least the goggles)

I'll give it a shot, i blasted it last night, but didn't spin it, so I'll give that a try... with goggles!!

Do you think the new wheel sensor is wasted now, don't know how delicate those things are, or would metal fragments, etc cause that to read short as well? Just wondering if i should order another wheel sensor now if it is inevitable.

sensor is probably ok, it's just a magnet. no moving parts.

thanks....so the wheel sensor short error code, might now just be caused by the debris?

Any concerns with continued driving until i try the clean out? Will the shaving/debris hurt do any damage beyond just having the light on.... don't want to make it worse, but need to use the car at the same time.

probably not...you've got my tail light warranty on that "as soon as your tail lights disappear, the warranty is up"

So, I took everything apart, spun the tire and did find some additional debris in the sensor hole. I was able to remove it with some small tools, and used the air compressor and brake cleaner to clean out the assembly multiple times.

I put it all back together and the light remained on. I took it back to the Auto Store to read the error codes. Same two codes, sensor short and pulsar malfunction. I've decided to get a new Wheel Speed Sensor, as the end of the one initially installed looked a bit chewed up at the end, and will put that in as soon as the part arrives, hoping that will reset things in some manner.

If that doesn't work, it might be off to the shop!! Any other ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
