Default 2003 Accord code pulled

Last night the Service engine light came on while we were driving to a friends house. We actually needed gas, so I pretty much ruled out the gas cap, as it had been over a week since I had put in gas. So today we went to Autozone and pulled this code:

p0141
02 sensor heater circuit malfunction
bank 1
sensor 2

Can anybody give me more information on this?

what it means that that the heater inside the O2 sensor has failed or the wiring to the circuit is bad

A good test to verify the problem is to check the resistance of the o2 heater. Should be 10-40 ohms. That's on the 2ndary sensor, the one in the cat.

I had this filure on my 2003 Accord at about 30,000 miles. It will have to be replaced. Honda quality might be good but the quality of their parts suppliers seems spotty.

I got this same code (P0141) on my 96 Accord. Do you know what the fix is and about how much? Thanks

Sort of the same story for your car. The secondary O2 sensor is the rear one, in the cat or towards the rear of the cat.

Measure resistance between the 2 same-color wires of the O2 sensor. Should be 10 to 40 ohms; if not, get a new sensor.

If that resistance is OK, then you have to start looking for wiring problems in that circuit.

if car has 36k miles or less it is totally under warranty.also being an emission related part it might be coverd longer than 36k,
call your local dealer and ask what the warranty is
