Unhappy 2003 Accord ex-l

So I bought my 2003 honda accord ex-l at a dealer about 5 months ago, it had 125,000 miles when i got it. My dad assumed it had been sitting and had gotten repossessed or something because it was in such beautiful condition. After having it for about a month and a half we realized it was burning oil. We put SeaFoam in it which slowed the burning a little but it is still burning. The engine light randomly turns on and off while I'm driving and we don't know where to start. Also, sometimes I have problems with it sticking into gear as well but other than that there are no major problems. Does anyone know why the engine light keeps coming on and off or where I should start first to figure it out?? HELP!

Is your car a 4cyl or v6? Auto or manual? Any idea how much oil it is burning? Next time the light comes on stop at an advanced auto or autozone. In a few minutes and free of charge they can tell you what the problem is. But for us to just guess on here is possible because it could be hundreds of different things

If you go somewhere to have them read the error code (for the check-engine light) make sure to get the actual code number. Not just the guy's description.
