Is it okay to install accord 2008 factory alloy wheel on my 2003 accord
Hello,
I purchased nearly new used 2008 OEM factory wheels& tiresand installed it on my honda accord. But it turned out that my original wheel spec was 205/65-15 (Honda Accord 2003 LX sedan) and the 08 wheel's is P225/50 R17 93V. Is it okay to install thesewheelssincetheseare still honda genuine parts? What are the possible consequences of installing different size wheels and tires? Thanks for your help!

As long as the tires fit and the bolt pattern is right the only difference is going to be if one tires diameter is different than the new ones. I'm assuming you're swapping a set of 4 so your speedometer might be off a bit but as long as it doesn't rub you're fine

Thank you so much! I replaced all four tires andthey seemed little too large to me. The tires and wheelsare not only larger but also wider. That was why I worried about any potential extra stress to the powertrain sysytem, which may cause future expensive repair. It seems that I should be okay except the speedometer error. Neways, I paid $850 for OEM wheel and new tires with 450 mile on it so I think I got a good deal. Thanks!

that is a good deal, and the wider tires aren't going to do much except improve grip. You may lose a little power because of the added weight of the rims/tires but it's not going to make that much of a difference.

Thanks again. My original wheels were steel and these are alloy wheels, so I am actually expecting less weight and better gas milege. As you say, it wouldn't make that much difference. THanks. I forgot to mention my car model and year. It's Honda accord sedan 2003 LX with manual shift.

those alloys feel heavier to me. there is only a 1.4% difference in speedo reading so you won't notice any change in speed. but like said - it will feel a lot rougher over bumps and you probably won't be able to spin the wheels as easily as before.
