2003 Accord SRS light is on
Hi, I really need some suggestion or help on the SRS light of my accord 2003 SRS light. The light was on after an accident, the seat belt exploded, but the airbag was find.
1. Diagnostics showed that the seat belt and buckle needs to be replaced;
2. I personally replaced the seat belt, but it kept on;
3. The Honda dealer recall the vehicle and replaced the airbag yesterday, but the light was still on;
Now my question is:
1. Should I go ahead to replace the buckle?
2. If I need, does that mean a match between seat belt and buckle is necessary?
Any help or discussion are highly appreciated.

Honda should have reset the SRS. Typically it is not uncommon for the SRS control unit to have to be replaced after one of the SRS devices have been deployed in an accident. SRS codes can be read through the SRS service connector but it is not recommended unless you are familiar with SRS systems and the Honda code/reset procedure.
I recommend that you bring the car back to Honda and simple state that your car wads recently in for a recall and state that the SRS light is on and see if you can get some diagnostics out of them since they should have pointed that out when you picked the car up after the recall. It may be as simple as them using the HDS to reprogram the SRS control unit to recognize the new seat belt.
