2003 Honda accord ex 4-cylinder - 161,000 miles.
Code p0303. Engine runs rough and feels like it is going to stall. Scanner indicates cylinder 3 misfire.

What am I looking at here and what is usually the main culprit? Thanks.

 

Since the misfire is specific to cylinder 3, then the issues could be the cylinder 3 coil, spark plug, fuel injector, or valve/piston issue. Quickest test to eliminate one is to swap coil 3 and coil 4. If the misfire moves to cylinder 4, then coil is likely culprit. If it stays at cylinder 3, then swap spark plug with cylinder 2. See if the misfire moves to cyl 2 or remains. The fuel injector is probably the hardest item to swap, so try that last if the misfire remains on cyl 3.
