How many miles on it? What does the fluid level/condition look like? Done any drain and fills? I do a drain and fill every 15k miles, and changed the filter twice, now at 117k miles. Honda thinks this is a lifetime filter, but I don't agree. Might want to read a little on this link. This guy is from Australia, and he goes a little overboard, IMO, but the link has a lot of helpful information about fluid changes etc. Good luck

I've only got 96,000 miles and I have kept up with all maintenance schedules like im suppose to. now since ive posted this ive come up with a code p0741 saying this is a torque converter circuit shut off. im thinking then that would probably be the upper solenoid went bad. what do you think. because when I drive the car say about 1 and a half miles then it starts to slip then I turn it off and wait a few minutes and start back up again and then it all repeats. so im thinking that by this code its telling me that when the car is warm or hot the fluid is breaking down but the pump is not responding because of the break down. help

Following the owner's manual maintenance on the transmission is just not going to cut it. Honda printed the owner's manual before they knew how fragile these (V6) transmissions are. The first fluid change listed in the owner's manual is at over 100k miles, and your transmission will likely be shot by then IMO. Honda also recalled the transmissions after they printed the owner's manuals. You can try changing the solenoid, if that is what the code indicates. If the transmission is already slipping, it may be too late to save it. Did you read the link I posted?
