2004 Accord LX 4dr, 4cyl, auto Wiper Issue
OK, turned wipers on in rain storm, they moved real slow, and parked themselves and that was it. Checked fuse, its good. Checked other fuses in box, all good. Applied 12 volts to motor it worked, so I ruled that out. Replaced switch, not realizing about this multiplex thing. Still no go. When I activate the switch I hear a click in the engine bay fuse box. The stock radio has the loud noise and then no workie issue, but it does work from time to time, and the clock keeps the correct time, and the backlight on the HVAC/Radio controls is intermittent to completely out most of the time when headlamps are on. I realize the radio problem itself is likely in the radio, but the lights issue along with the wiper issue leads me to the multiplex. Is the multiplex, the driver side one, the whole fuse panel or the underhood fuse box? A friend of mine works at a Honda dealer and the techs point to the multiplex, but I do not want to just throw parts at this thing. Also, I saw the reset thing for an 08 Accord, where you disconnect the battery completely and jumper the positive and negative together, is this worth a shot on this car or can I screw something else up? Power windows and doors work as intended, and the car is bone stock. Thanks for your help!
I'd probably do some electrical testing on the connector to the wiper motor. The green wire should have 12V to ground when you use a test light. The blu wire is labeled low and the yellow labeled high. I'm not sure if the high/low speed signal is voltage or ground, but you can test that as well.
