Default 2004 Accord power seat motor

Hi all,

My 2004 accord ex-l driver side power seat got stuck in inclined position . I have dropped the car in near by Honda dealer. They have charged $140 to check the problem and said the motor (not the one which helps to move back and foth, one which changes the inclination of the seat) needs to be replaced and it will be costing $1400 for it.

Do you guys suggest any other shop near by (Bellevue / Redmond 98052/ 98007) or any alternatives to reduce the repair cost.

thanks
jo

I would be inclined to look for a used seat from a bone yard.

Honda reclining motor list price is $112.43, less expensive if order via internet Honda dealer (about $81); but, there is shipping costs.

Honda Part Number: 81237-SDB-A71Motor, Reclining

You should double-check the part number based on your specific model trim.

but truly it was shocked me when the Honda dealer gave me $1400 quote ..

hi

is there a way that, the seat can be set back to normal position form where it got stuck in inclined position and leave it like that, instead of replacing the motor for it.

on average the quote for replacement is around $1500 (parts + labor)

Thanks
Jo

Sometimes it is not the motor that is faulty; but, the seat gears get stuck. You may be able to move it back and get it working again without replacing anything. But, be careful if the car is equipped with the side airbag.

The motor list for about $112. The high quotes you are getting are probably for a whole seat replacement.

i have verified with the dealer again, they says car seat is costlier to replace, and its just motor what they are replacing and the cost of it is roughly $1100.

i have asked him, is it possible to move it back to straight ( from inclined position) or replace the seat with the side one. Dealer said its not doable and fixing the motor is the only solution.

Thanks
jo

Default 2004 Accord power seat gear

I'mpretty sure that just my gear is worn ad the seat will go forward, but will not go back beyond a straightincl8ne. Where can I find a video to replace just the gear that I can buy for under $50? No way I can afford the quotes I'm reading in these posts.
Thanks in advance for your help. theQUOTE=redbull-1;354831]Sometimes it is not the motor that is faulty; but, the seat gears get stuck. You may be able to move it back and get it working again without replacing anything. But, be careful if the car is equipped with the side airbag.
