2004 V-6 Belt Noise
Hey all,
I have a 2004 V-6 with about 90k miles and this morning when I went out to run some errands I noticed a pretty distinct "whirring" sound coming from the belt (not sure what the belt is called) on the right hand side of the car. When I opened the hood I can't say that the noise is coming from the belt, per-se, but it is clearly related to the belt.
Also, not sure if this is related, but a few months ago I had a power steering leak which was, alllegedly, fixed by a non-dealer mechanic. Lately, I have been noticing that the steering wheel seems to vibrate a lot.
Anyway, I am not a fix it type of guy myself so I will take it to a mechanic but I was wondering if anyone had any clue what this might be so I know what I am looking at in terms of repair costs.
Thanks!

Well, I am kind of responding to my own post here but from what I am seeing on the internet it sounds as if this could be related to the power steering and the fluid. Does this sound like a possible issue? If so, would it be safe to at least drive the car to a mechanic? Thanks!
