Default 2004 Honda Accord EX Timing Belt/Water Pump Replacement

Hello All,

I did a timing belt/waterpump replacement on a 1995 Lexus LS400 about 2 years ago. The crankshaft bolt had 180 ft-lbs of torque. One solution to remove the bolt was to secure the bolt with a breaker bar & socket and quickly turn on/off the ignition switch. This worked like a charm.

Has anyone tried this approach on a 2004 V6 Honda Accord EX?

I've heard of that on other cars; should be OK with the V-6 or the 2003+ K-series.

Make sure you support the car. It would not be good if this knocks it down off the jackstands.

Anyone with an F-series 4-cylinder, that engine spins in the wrong direction. Doing this would tighten the crank pulley bolt.
