I had my 2005 Accord serviced because the check engine light came on. It turned out to have code P1009. The mechanic added oil and reset the light, but it came on again. He then changed the VTC Solenoid / Valve and changed oil. A few days later, the light came on again. Same code P1009. The mechanic doesn't know what else to do and suggested that the engine might be failing but there is no indication of that. It only has 44000 miles and was always well-maintained. I'm unsure if I should bring it to the Honda dealer or try a foreign car specialist that I know of. The car runs well besides throwing that code recently. Any ideas what could be wrong?
