hi i drive a 05 honda accord i-ctdi 2.2 diesel, with 100k miles on clock, going perfect untill yesterday i drove off from cold got up to about 40mph and the engine power went like a flat spot or so i thought? i stopped up on the road and found it was ideling high and low between 800 and 1000 rpm with no control over it with the accelerator, i then switched it off and tried it 2 to 3 times and still the same it then cut out and once i tried to start it again it failed! i then gave it about a 5 min rest and retried and to my amazement it started and seemed to drive away perfect.
thinkin back on it this happened for a second or so the week before starting from cold but did not take any notice of it.
i would be very grateful if you could help me with my query in some way or even if this has happened before or a fairly common problem.

This would be better in the General Tech area, so I'll move it. And put a title that (I hope) will attract the right people. Many of us are in USA where Honda has never sold a diesel Accord. Hope someone from UK or ??? will chime in.
