Default 2005 EX - A/C on, driver's side hot air, passenger's side cold air

2005 I4 EX.

When I turn the heat control dial, I can hear something move inside (which tells me everything is supposedly working fine )
I turn the A/C on - I get super cold air from both passenger's vents (side and center), but normal/outside temp. air from both driver's vents.
While A/C is on I turn the temp. dial to heat - all four vents blow hot air.
Back to cold - same situation as above (passenger - cold; driver - normal air).
This happens in both A/C and MAX A/C.

Any ideas what could it be and how to tackle it?

Thanks.

Probably due to low refrigerant. There was a similar thread just a few days ago.

So low refrigerant divides the (very) cold air between vents? My logic is that low refrigerant will cause higher temp. air to come out evenly between all vents. How can low refrigerant "decide" which vent to cool more and which one to cool less?

Edit: OK, I read the other post. Weird...the design of the evaporator can cause this "divide". I'll check refrigerant. Thanks!
