Default 2005 Heater control valve/ Temp control ****

2005 2.4L SE - With someone watching the heater control valve as I am turning the temperature control **** inside from cold to hot.... The heater control valve does not move at all until the temperature **** gets to the end at the full hot position. Coming back the other way, the heater control valve does not move at all until the **** reaches the full cold position.

Would this be in the heater control valve itself or is there a circuit not operating correctly?

Thanks

check all the fuses? Might be some loose wires. Could also try and clean the inside of the ****

You need to determine if the cable is stuck, the heater core valve is stuck, the air mix motor is not moving, or the air mix motor is not getting a signal from the temperature control dial.

Looks like the heater control valve is driven by a cable. That cable is connected to the heater control valve in the engine bay and the air mix motor inside the car. The air mix motor inside the car is behind the stereo in the center console in the general area to the right of the gas pedal (as you sit in the driver's seat). I think you should look at the air mix motor and the heater core cable that attaches to see how that mechanism operates as you change the temperature setting.

In the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link to check hvac codes on your 03-06 accord. You should also give that a shot to see if something comes up to help narrow down the issue.
