I have a 2005 Honda Accord EX 2.4 with 298K miles. I just started getting the dreaded "please check your disc". I assumed it was the navi unit in the trunk and bought a replacement unit on Ebay, I am getting the same error message. Any thoughts or suggestions? I have not unhooked the battery. I can't adjust the ac/fan right now and assume i would not be able to use the radio if i unplug the battery. If i buy a new stereo head unit for the dash will it bypass the navi unit in the trunk? If so, any suggestions on brand (touch screen model) - Thanks

 

Have you tried pushing the Cancel, Map and Menu buttons for 5-10 seconds to get to diagnostic mode? Then you may be able to exit back to navigation?
