Hey guys,

wanted some advice regarding the noise my car is making when I rev. It’s a new noise, and i noticed it about a week or two ago. Doesn’t drive different, no associated CEL, but the knock throws me off. It doesn’t sound like a rod knocking. When I took my car to Honda to get a balance and alignment I told them about it and they’re telling me I need a new cam shaft. Could you assist? I’ll attach a video with the sound

Did the shop say why the camshaft needs replaced?

Also, was any work done on the car before this happened?

 

had my rear valve cover gasket replaced, that’s about it. That was back at the end of June, nothing else since.
they said the noise the car is making is being caused by the camshaft
