Default 2005 SRS light on intermediately

Hi there,
On my Accord 2005, 2.4l 4c auto, SRS light comes on once in couple of days, after stop and restart it is fine, all good. Is there any way I could extract the fault code, considering it is not on all the time?
Regards

I bridged 4 and 9 pins on diagnostics plug, switched ignition, SRS light comes on holds it and then turns off,
after that it comes on 6 times slowly, then flashes 2 times quickly,
then goes again with slow blinks 10 times then flashes again 2 times quickly,
and then again 6 slow blinks and 2 fast.
After that it stays on.
Is that that any code for fault?

Just curious, did you actually meant to say that your SRS light came on "intermittently"?Anyway, I'd buy a $20 OBD2 scanner from amazon.com. I got one and it worked on my 2005 accord hybrid.

I'm not sure... I would think it can read anything thrown by the car's computer. But if you want to be sure, you can try the local autoshop which should let you borrow a scanner...

thanks guys,
I would also appreciate if anyone can check my posting about SRS light reading above and possibly tell me what would be the error code?

In my 05 TSX shop manual, the only way to get codes is to use the code reader. The codes don't really match up to what you are describing for my TSX.

Generic code readers will probably not be able to get the code, but it is worth a shot.

The old shorting method may work, but I do not have a shop manual for an 05 accord that would list the codes like my old 95 accord.

Thanks, I have ordered OBD2 reader online, it may take few weeks before I get it down here in OZ. Hopefully it will give me more idea. I spoke to service they want $120 to connect to reader and tell me the error code but they don’t guaranty as error is intermittent and it may not stay in log due to limited memory , might as well buy one for that much. Will keep you posted about progress.

I don't know if code scheme has changed, but for earlier models it's detailed in following link to paste into browser w/o the trailing quote.

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=636707"

I found the decode "challenging".

Based on your flashes, the code scheme may have changed. I don't see any use of two short blinks.

regards
