I am having issues with starting the Accord. It will turn over just fine but it just sounds a little funny. After a few tries it will start and keep starting. It is kind of random.

What's the funny sound? Describe a little better?

How many miles? How are your normal tune-up things like spark plugs?

 

Sounds like either the starter or the key switch (not sure if the '06 is like the older one).

If you are saying that sometimes the starter is "staying" on/engaged even after the car is running and you let go of the key?

 

I can't describe the sound. Not the starter it will crank and start after many tries
just takes a while. 88,000 miles on it. Maybe bad gas?

When you go to start, is the starter motor turning over the engine but the engine won't start up and run......
Or nothing happens but a "funny" clicking type of sound.

 

Yes the motor turns over but it just won't start. This only happens sometimes though.

 

Happen to be when it is really hot outside? Next time this happens,

When the key is in the off pos, turn it to on and watch the CEL and listen for the fuel pump to prime (blower off, radio off, door shut so no "other sounds" are in the way because it can be hard to hear). The cel should come on, fuel pump prime and the both stop about ~3 seconds later.
