2006 Honda Accord Stuck Moonroof
Hello Everyone,
New to this forum after doing some research into why my moonroof won't open. Was wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their Accord? The moonroof will tilt just fine, but when I attempt to open it up completely, the driver side of the sunroof gets stuck as it lowers to slide under the roof panel. I can see the rear rubber edge is getting hung up on the driver side. If I physically push down on the glass (on the driver side) while holding the dash button to open, it can get enough clearance to open and slide back. It seems like maybe its off sync a little on the track? I have already tried to grease the tracks and the rear rubber (which helped a little) as its not catching as much of the rubber while retracting now, but still can't quite get it to open on its own.. Any thoughts or help would be super appreciated.
Thanks!

Be sure to check the "deflector" is ok, the little part that "pops" up when you open it. Again I would grease/lube all of the tracks a bit more, a q-tip might help to lube it in several positions as it opens and closes.

Sometimes it is due a part loose or misaligned. The moonroof probably has to be disassembled and re-assembled, using blue loctite on bolts, etc. during re-assembly.
Years ago, my former CRX Si's sunroof needed to be disassembled and re-assembled. A Honda tech did it at his home for me. It was several hours of labor. There were no broken parts, just loose or misaligned.
