2007 4 cyl gas mileage?
I got an 07 Accord 4 door,4 cyl and I was curious on what MPG others are getting. I average 25 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. Is this normal? I recently had a 92 accord and it got better gas mileage than the 07. Which seems odd to me. I know the 92 was smaller in size, but I figured with newer technology I would get better MPG in the 07. Right now I experimenting with putting a K&N air filter in to see how it affects my mileage. A buddy told me putting in a K&N could cause me to lose MPG cause the car is set up to run with a Honda stock air filter. And increasing the air flow to the engine could cause it to run better but also disturb the air/fuel mixture causing it to lose MPG's. Any body have any advice? Or suggestion to increase my MPG's

Automatic or manual transmission?
I put a K&N in our 2003 Accord 4-cyl manutl-trans. No real difference in MPG, but we got about 35 highway.
The single most important component for fuel economy is your own right foot. Seriously, it depends far too much on terrain (are you in the mountains?) and traffic.

I just drove last weekend from Houston to Corpus Christi and back. Average was about 33-34 mpg at 60-70 mph.
Around town it's bette than 25 mpg, perhaps 27 but it's been a while since I checked at tank.
You may be OK in hilly country. I've noticed a substantial difference in gas mileage on my Acura MDX going from Houston to San Antonio, only a modest climb of perhaps 1000 feet of 200 miles. Mileage going upslope was about 18 mpg, and downslope was 22-23. It would probably be less noticeable in Accord, but still significant.
good luck

I am a newbie but I have driven my 2007 Honda accord 4 cyl, and I average 34 mpg. I set the cruise control to 65 and boogie on down the road. The road has bridges and the road is not level on my parts of my drive.
But by far, the 4 cyl is great on power for a mid size car.
