2007 Accord - RPM Issue
Hey, quick question, it feels like I may be having an issue with my transmission, but I've taken to my independent mechanic and they found nothing. Added some fuel injection cleaner, and that was about it.
They said to let it make it's way through (about 1/2 a tank) and let them know if the problem persists. Good advice?
2007 Accord, CYL, 60K Mi, 4 Door, Automatic
The car just feels like the power is being dispersed oddly. Not sure if the tranny is slipping, or if it's something else. RPM's are a little jumpy, but it just feels like the car suddenly gets pulled forward just a little bit, or like it gets stuck in the mud or hits a big gust of wind head on suddenly or something and it's not getting enough juice.
I've seen the RPM's jump a couple times (accelerating slowly and it went up to about 3000 then bounced down to 1,500, and once where it dropped in a similar fashion....)
I'm not sure how noticeable it is for someone just driving it around, like my mechanic, but for me since I've had it a bit, it's very noticeable.
Any ideas?
Should I go to a Honda dealer? I love my mechanic, but would they be better equipped to figure it out?

Some of the 7th generation Accords sometimes had faulty Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensors. A faulty APP sensor will sometimes cause some of the symptoms you mentioned. However, if that was the case, you may get various dash lights on like the TCS and the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL).
2007 Accords (4 and 6 cylinders) were drive-by-wire and had the APP sensor. The APP sensor for the V6 is located on the passenger side firewall inside the engine cabin. I believe it is the same for the 2007 Accord 4 cylinder.
See post # 11 for picture of APP sensor.

An air filter with a partially torn or pinched gasket may also cause drivability issue; but, may not show any MIL, etc. unless the Mass Air Flow (MAF) got too dirty due to it. You can check the air filter yourself to see if the rubber gasket on the filter is pinched.
