Default 2007 Accord timing belt

I've been reading about timing belt changing intervals, and am somewhat dismayed at the very short time span for the 07' Accords V6 being at 60k.
Does anybody know why the belt should be changed at 60k rather than the 90 to 120k intervals for other Honda models and years?

There are other brands (Toyota, VW, Nissan, etc) that require 60K timing belt chages, especially older models. Used to be pretty much the norm a while back. Why and how they come up with longer intervals for some models? Good question, perhaps better materials, technology??

Load on the belt would influence the interval too. That belt is driving 2 camshafts, instead of 1 in the F-series engines.

I'm sure Honda can afford to run endurance tests on engines just to see how long before the belt breaks. I'm guessing they must have had a good reason to pick the interval, & give up the advertising advantage of 100k mile maintenance.

Update:

I finally called several dealer service Dept's. and was told that the area i live in,and driving habits would not be considered "severe" service. 100k,or 6-7 years would be the norm.

I wish Honda would elaborate more on this.

Thanks for everyone's input.
