Default 2008 2.4L. Which oil weight

my car: 08 Accord 2-dr 2.4L 25K miles

I just had Christian Brothers Automotive service center change the oil. They used bulk 5W30. The owners manual lists 5W20.

Can anyone provide a honest down-2-earth answer weather I should be concerned. I must assume a respectable service center who see's many accords would know best. Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks,
Jennifer

I'd have em use 5w-20 next time, but don't sweat it for now.

Honda calls for the thinner oil so they can claim slightly better fuel milage. In fact, many people like to use 5w-30 in summer in warmer parts of the country. If it were June and you lived in Texas, I'd say GOOD for the heavier oil.

I hope the oil was API SM or whatever the current spec calls for.
