Just stepped out of dealer's service center, was told the AC receiver pipe has a minor leak (I found no AC yesterday). The cost to repair is $467.65. Is this a fair charge?

Or, is this something easy to DIY? Well, I know I need to go to some shops to get the whole system vaccumed and recharged. Just want to know if it's easy to install a new receiver pipe on my own?

Don't know where to order the part yet. Even the dealer doesn't have the part. So, they just charged me 140 bucks for diagnostics and recharge the system temporarily. If I decide to have the work done there, they're going to order the part.

I bought the car new, and it's only 3.5 yrs old...

Not sure of the engine/trim of your car but the receiver pipe is really two lines going to the evap.

Again, I looked at a 4 cyl EX-L and the online price was ~$68 for the hose. There are some o-rings that will need to be replaced and as you stated the system has to be re-covered and then re-charged.

So you can get the hose and do some of the work then have a shop re-charge the system.....let the dealer do it.....see what another shop would charge.
