Drivers power seat slide motor suddenly got louder and after a few days, quit working. Should I assume it's the motor itself? Is it best to let the dealer fix it or is it an easy DIY?

 

Most likely the motor. You should check the power and ground to the failed motor just to make sure you don't have an electrical issue. Also check that the gears aren't the issue. You should get a quote from the dealership to get an idea of cost, because they may opt to replace the whole seat. Price out just the motor.

I would personally DIY the repair, but skill level/confidence vary from person to person. At minimum, watch some youtube videos on how this is done on accords to get an idea of process, then you will determine if you want to attempt the repair.
