Question 2012 4dr Accord with rattle

I have a 2012 Accord 4dr with A/T and 6 cyl engine.

I have some sort of a rattle (over certain "bumps") that seem to be coming from the floor mounted console.

When I tap on the passenger side of the console (in line with the automatic shifter) I do hear a rattle, but I'm not sure if that is it or not.

I would like to diagnose it better and fix it myself if possible. I'm sure the dealer will say they can't hear it or start pulling things apart making it worse.

The problem is I have no idea how to get even a piece of the floor center console apart. I figured if I could get some of it apart, maybe the rattle would become more evident. I can't even find an access panel to remove. I thought I could remove the automatic shifter cover, but I couldn't do that either.

Any thoughts, suggestions, diagrams would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

The parts drawing is pretty busy, not sure if it'll be much help. Drawings from the shop manual would be much better.

Wow! Thanks. They show bolts/screwsw where I don't even seem them.
Everything looks bolted/screwed from the inside. I would love to get either panel #27 or# 19 off. I don't see any visible bolts anywhere. Looks like this is going back to the dealer.
Thanks for your efforts,
Paul

I'm just curious, can I purchase a 2012 Honda Accord shop manual? If so, where?

I should've suggested this...
www dot hondaautomotiveparts dot com
click PARTS
put in your car's information
category is CONSOLE
For the fasteners, look in the parts list for the quantity. Typically the parts drawing shows one fastener where maybe 3 or 4 are used. Still, the Helm book is WAY better for that. It shows a lot more detail about where each fastener is located.

The best manual is published by Helm, check out whether 2012 is available yet?
www dot helminc dot com
Unless I need it right away, I normally buy the manual later so I get a book that covers several years like 2012-2015. Meantime, you might be able to talk a dealer parts-guy into printing a page or 2 for you. Especially if you're nice and he isn't real busy at the time.

There's some downloads; some are linked in a sticky "common DIY threads" at the top of this forum. Some of them are UK versions of the Helm book, judging by engine size & right-hand-drive. I'd be surprised if 2012 is out there yet.

Thanks again! Do you know if the Honda factory/mfr manuals are the exact same as the Helm manuals?

Hi Jim,
You're probably not really interested, but check out this YT video I found.
Go to 50 seconds into the vid.

AFAIK, the Helm books are the factory-authorized shop manuals. There's a couple regulars here that have been (or still are?) dealer mechanics so they'll know better than me.
