Default 2012 Accord No oil

The other day decided to check the oil level to find out it didn't show up on dip stick. To make long story short 3 quarts later it was right up to the top hole.

The car since last oil change was driven 5,000.

Has anybody else have experience this problem.

You drove 5000 miles w/o looking at dipstick? Low oil level is the consequence of inattention to maintenance/inspection.

Hopefully, you did no damage. Was oil light illumination the reason you decided to check oil? If yes, there may have been some damage.

Some oil consumption w/ a new car is not unusual.

good luck

My niece's 2010 V6 was a quart and a half low when she first bought it, before the first oil change. Don't know if the problem has continued. Check the level often, at least until you find out what's going on.

No oil light ever came on, and the only reason I checked mine, was I checked the wifes Honda which was 1/2 qt low.
Engine still runs smooth.

I was curious if anybody else had this problems, cause my Corvette C5 also eats oils is why I installed trap can. The reason cause the PCV valve is at angle, which causes oil to escape.

I let my sister borrow my car for about a year. When I came back I hopped in it drove it around the block and the vtec cut out then came back once I stopped turning (this happens when oil is very low). I grabbed 5 quart jug from autozone went home and changed the oil. I think only 2 maybe 2.5 quarts drained out…. I was not happy and lectured my sister on why it is so important to maintain your car. That was at 115k miles I am at 160k now and don’t burn oil still get 30mpg. Engine runs smooth as silk. So good thing you caught it but don’t let it happen again.

Just shows you, can't kill Honda. This Accord is 6 for me, and wife has CRV since they came out 1999, we sell when the car get 10000 miles, and knock on wood, we never had problem with any of the cars we owned. That is the reason we keep buying Honda, can't say that with American cars.

I hope you meant 100,000 miles. If you run the engine without oil, it will not last, Honda or not.
