I just got my 2012 EX-L Automatic coupe and in the first tank of gas I've only achieved 21mpg and I'd say 60-70% was highway driving. From what others have reported this is severely under achieving. I do not know the history, but this was "certified and reviewed" by a Honda master tech, is there anything minor I should check out myself ie fuel cleaner additives, replacing air filters etc or should I take this to the service department? It has just under 120,000 miles.

 

How are you calculating the mpg? I fill up my tank, drive, record the miles, then divide by the gallons of gas used to refill the tank.
