Default 2013 Fog Light Bulb Conversion - Input Needed

The Fog lights on a 13 Accord use H8 bulbs. These are 35 watts with an unimpressive 712 lumen rating. The H11s are 55 watts with a 1250 lumen rating. There have been threads about the conversion but I am curious if anyone has any long term experience with the H8 to H11 conversion.

The change in current draw is not that significant and I am not too worried about the increase of 1.5Amps from changing from 35 to 55W. Heat from the bulb damaging the fixture is my concern.

The switch will also involve changing the fogs from white to amber (yellow) bulbs.

will changing them to 55w really make that much of a heat difference to cause any damage?

Is there an easy way to change the Fog Lights to LED instead?

Currently the LEDs just don't have the lumen output that the halogens have. The H8 bulb is rated at about 470 lumens. The H11 output is about twice that at 770 lumens. I learned that about 95% of the bulbs output goes into heat. An extra 19W of heat rejected per fixture could be an issue.

There was some chat about H8 to H11 conversions but no long term reports. There must be some feedback out there somewhere.
