Fob batteries changed on 2 fobs, still not working. BUT door locks do not work unless key is in ignition, which isn't normal either. Even though I didn't think it the reason because locks work with key in, I looked at a bunch of fuses to no avail. Thank you for any assistance.

 

Do you have to turn the key when inserted into the ignition switch to have the locks start working? When you say locks start working, do the FOBs work as well?

Have you had any work done on the car before you started seeing this issue?

 

Thank you for replying. Yes I have to turn the key to xsecond position for the locks to work. Only work I had done on it were struts replaced and battery several months ago. I have tried disconnecting the battery but that did not work.

 

And no, the key fobs do not work when key is in, they're not working at all.
