Default 2014 - Dead Alternator

At just over 42,000 miles the alternator on my 2014 Accord has died. Of course the warranty on it is only for 36,000 miles. The dealer estimates $500 to replace it, so i guess I'll do it myself.

I've looked for on-line videos or instructions but haven't found any. Anyone know how involved it is, or have instructions? Looking at the alternator I can only see one mounting bolt, but surely there's at least one more that I can't see? Or is it as simple as pull the belt tensioner, disconnect the wires and remove the one bolt?

Someone told my girlfriend that there is a recall on 2014 Honda alternators. I've searched and searched on-line but haven't found anything. Does anyone know of such a recall or even a TSB?

Thanks for any help.

Check whether yours is similar to attached video. I don't know whether Honda has modified, but this is same as my 2010 Acura TSX w/ 2.4L engine.

good luck

Thanks for the post. I did see that video but unfortunately it is totally different from the 2014 alternator.

Can you give us some more information about your car? V6 or 4-cylinder? Automatic or manual transmission? EX, EX-L, etc...
