Default 2016 Accord GPS Issues

Hi -

Looking for thoughts on this situation. I was originally getting the error in the picture below "The navigation system lost power and is acquiring its location from the GPS satellites" The message would never go away. I could do a button combo to force it away to use the radio, but GPS would never connect making navigation and the car clock unusable.

Took it to the local dealership. On Day 1 they did a software upgrade and said it was fixed. When picking up my vehicle I found that the error message was no longer there, but it was still not functioning. No clock / navigation system shows car on map with a "?" and a message saying "acquiring satellites" . On day 2 they spent 3 hours troubleshooting. System reset and I'm told tested with other GPS antennas.

End resolution - they are telling me that the radio/nav system has gone bad and I need to replace the entire thing at a cost of $1000.

1) Anyone every see this and find a different solution?
2) Does their final recommendation make sense or should I took for something else
3) If it does make sense, recommendation for location for used stock units?

Thanks for the help.

Did they charge you for the first fix. If so demand a refund and put it towards the radio replacement. Don't let them troubleshoot on your dime. If the radio fix does not work request another refund. Eventually they will find the issue. To me it seems like a GPS issue maybe a bad cable.

Also are you disconnecting the battery or something. How is it loosing power is the big question
