I have not had a problem yet but wondering what to do if the gas cap door will not open. I can see myself at a gas station and not being able to access the gas cap. Is there a bypass to the handle inside the cabin?

 

I really don't know but it's cable-operated. Seems like you could get the weatherstripping around the trunk lid & pull back the carpet stuff that hides the fill pipes. That's where you'll find the cable that pulls the latch for the fuel door. Have a look in the comfort of your garage & figure out how to work it. The time to explore & discover how, is not at a gas station in the dark in the rain.
