Default 205/60/15 tires

Has anyone mounted 205/60/15 tires on a 99 Accord? I have some that are in good shape that I got cheap. They will by 5/8" higher off the rim than the 195/65/15's and 1/2" wider total which would be 1/4" on inside and 1/4" on outside. Thanks,Larry

I haven't used those tires, but they are very similar to the size for a 6th gen V6 (205/65/15), I would use them.
One thing to keep in mind, is that if your current 195/65/15 tires are worn down to the wear bars, the new tires will be a good bit larger in size (height) than the tires on the car already.
New 195/65/15 will be larger than the tires on the car now. My new Bridgestone 195s were about 3/8" larger radius than the worn out General Altimax RT.

The difference between the two tires height wise will be minimal. 24.69" vs 24.98" unless I did the math incorrectly. The width difference would be 10mm which would end up being .4" wider with .2" on either side of the tire. You are fine.

I think your math is correct but I misstated the size. They are 205/75/15 and so are 5/8" higher off the rim and 1-1/4" higher overall. Opinions?

It's actually going to be 27.106" vs 24.98" height wise. It's over 2.1" taller. Width difference remains the same. I am guessing it will still physically fit but it will not handle as well with more tire flex now. Just look at the car now and imagine the tires being 2.1" taller. Do you still have clearance when the shocks fully compress? I am guessing it will still be fine besides the issue mentioned above.

Tires you want to use (205/75/15)
205mm x .75 = 153.75mm (height of the tire off the rim)
153.75mm x 2 = 307.5mm (since you are adding height to top and bottom of the rim)
15" x 25.4 = 381mm (converting rim height to mm)
307.5mm + 381mm = 688.5mm (height of the wheel tire combo)
688.5mm / 25.4 = 27.106" (converting back to inches)

Tires you currently have on the car (195/65/15)
195mm x .65 = 126.75mm
126.75 x 2 = 253.5mm
15" x 25.4 = 381mm
253.5mm + 381mm = 634.5mm
634.5m / 25.4 = 24.98"

Size of the wheel arches is the same for the V-6 car.

205/65-15 (stock on V-6 cars)
205mm x .65 x 2 = 266.5
15" x 25.4 = 381
266.5mm + 381mm = 647.5
647.5mm / 25.4 = 25.49"

About 1/2-inch larger on the radius, which is the clearance you should worry about.

The car will sit 1/2-inch higher off the ground. No problem

The top of the tire will be 1/2-inch closer to all the structures inside the wheel well.
Most likely OK but MAYBE occasional rubbing on extreme steering-lock while the suspension is being depressed??
