They have come out with 8 speed. It'll be a b**** to shift but fun to blow past your opponent who's still stuck in 6 speed land.

Currently, it's mated via auto tranny. There's even a 10 speed slated for production: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...9/ai_104684664

But yeah...8,9,10 speed is excessive...and will probably be limited to automatic. 7 speed manual would probably be overkill.

EDIT- Yeah, I kinda regret the 4's lack of power...I feel it poops out on me around 115...:/

Im sure six forward gears would be enough for me. The ratios are the important part, as long as those are right, having more gears would probably just handicap you in a manual transmission car.

i never worry about power with my I4 H22. the only V6 that has more hp than it is the 7th gen, which still runs about the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile times (estimated). i recently hit 120mph racing a pontiac GTO. that might be the fastest ive gone.

dude.. just wait for the 2008 Accord to come out... it looks really nice and you'll be one of few that will have it... i have a 4 cyl 7th gen auto and i've had regrets not dishing out an extra $2000 for the V6... the 4 banger is ok for the city, but it can't pass on the highways... i get about 22 mpg citywith a lead foot and 34 mpg on road trips using 90% highways/ freeways...

but IMO i would wait a few more months until the 2008 8th gen comes out... or if you really like the 7th gen body, the price of the 2007 should drop a lot when the new model comes out...

@smaglik

You have been missing out on the rush. Lol, I was pushing it to keep up with my buddy's RSX-S. I eventually caught up to him because I weaved in and out of traffic...but my Accord handled beautifically. I think I hit 5th somewhere between 90-100...or maybe taht was just me.
