I strongly suspect most 6th gen owners around here are not the original owners of their cars (I'm the second owner of mine), and as such, you're not going to get much feedback. My advice to you is to simply drive your car, be diligent about replacing the ATF (use only Honda DW-1), and if the tranny fails, have it rebuilt with the latest aftermarket kits which have modifications meant to deal with the original design faults.

I have to agree with shippo, in that most of us 6th gen owners are at least the 2nd or more owner of their car. I bought my wife's 00 Accord used in late Nov 2013 with 217K miles on it (now it's got 239K miles). Don't know if it's ever been replaced, or rebuilt. They're cheap enough now that for around 500 bucks you can get a good used one. Just have to make sure you get the correct one though, as Honda calls out 98 and 99 1 style, with 00-02 being another style (updated electronics). The V6 6th gen AT's were known to go bad prematurely, but the 4 cylinders seem to last a long time with regular fluid changes. I heard of 1 guy getting 414K miles out of his (he's a mechanic) and it was still working fine when he sold the car. The key is regular fluid changes though. I know another guy who got 360Kkms out of a V6 AT too, but again with regular fluid changes.
I hope this helps.

Just another data point; I purchased our 2001 V6 Accord in 2012 when it had 114,000 miles on the clock. While the car came with a number of records detailing engine oil changes and such, there was no log of any transmission maintenance (or replacement/overhaul work). I changed the oil in the tranny at 120,000, 150,000, 180,000 (when I did a 3x3 for good measure), and if I still have the car when 210,000 rolls around, I'll change it again. The good news is the transmission shifts as crisply now at almost exactly 200,000 miles as it did when I bought the car six years ago.
