You can bypass the ignition switch.

Before you do that, what is happening when you try to start the car? Does the starter work and turn the engine? How did you narrow down the problem to the ignition switch?

Angry The Problem

It starts for a second just past the on position, then no red warning lights no clock,in the start position. This happend a month ago,I removed the key and put it back in but this time I pulled out on the key and it started.Everything was fine. This happend two more times and I did the same thing and it started.Last winter when it was -25f the key wouldn't turn at all.I had to run a hairdryer on the lock, when it warmed up it was still hard to turn.So I don't know what else it could be.Finding this part is very hard to find,it has to come from the lower 48.Can a used one work? Please I need bypass instructions,to make sure this will work untill the part comes in.They run about $75 here. Thanks for the help.fd1836

A used part may work until the new one comes in. Aftermarket places like autozone, sell ignition switches. The honda dealership might have one as well.

I am still confused about your post, and trying to figure out what part of the ignition switch is not working. So let me go through my terminology.

When I turn the key all the way forward to the start position, the starter will turn the engine. Once the engine fires up, I allow the key to return to the normal running position (II position).

When you turn the key to the II position, do the dash lights turn on? When you turn the key all the way forward, does the starter turn the engine?

When I turn it to position 1,the red dash lights come on.Then just past position it starts and runs for a second. When I go all the way to position 2,nothing no dash lights or clock,it will not turn the srarter. To me it seems like no power in position 2.
Thanks
