Default 88 blinker

got an 88 accord lx with the front blinker in the front bumper. the bulb went out and with the manual and some screwdrivers I can't get the unit out to change the bulb out. I don't usually think I'm an idiot but this has got me wondering again. The manual is very vague with pictures no writing, kind of looks like a screw which I don't see at all. Tried all kinds of prying to the point of breaking the lens. please help or put me out of my misery. thanks bob

can you reach to the rear of the light from under the bumper?

That is how they are changed on my 97.

In the bumper below the light there is a "panel" in the bumper, should have an opening where air flows in. Remove that panel out of the bumper-gentle aggression , then look up at the bottom of the lens, you will see the screw Then the lens tilts out

Let me know if you need more, I can go outside and take a few pic's if needed.

Default thanks

No you can't get to the light from behind the bumper. I have had the panel below off and looked around, all I see is styro foam. will try that route again this morning . thanks for helping, bob

There is a hole in the foam, about the size of a phillips screw driver EDIT: very front, outer edge of the light. I just went outside and looked at the drivers side light on my 88 LXi to refresh my memory. Here is a pic of it, sorry not much room under there when using a camera.

It is there, I have personally changed this bulb ~10 times on a 3rd gen. Don't get me wrong, the 86 and the 87 are different That is why the lens on the 86 and 87 won't work on the 88 and 89 thought I would add that since yours is broken now....I have a pass side for the 88-89 if you need one, PM me and we can talk about price....but I bet you can find one in a bone yard for next to nothing.

Thanks Poorman, unlike your handle you are rich in knowledge. You were correct, there is a screw I just couldn't see it before. It is a driver side, so I will be visiting my local junkyard sometime to look for one. Until then I clear siliconed the old back together. Thanks for the tip about the year having to be 88 or 89. Bought the car from my mother in law 7 years ago for 500 (what the dealer wanted to give her for trade in) and have never looked back. We have just turned over 247,000 and still going strong, but parts are getting rarer. have told the wife we should upgrade to a newer year, but she won't hear of it. Luckily its a 5 speed. My son bought an 88 with an auto and it was not the same car. Anyway, thanks very much, bob

Anytime, that is why I do this Don't take this the wrong way, I know stupid and random stuff about Accords and I am willing to give that away for free in the effort to help someone I don't even know ?

-just for the record, 86-87 have yellow lenses with two screws thru the front, 88-89 are "clear" lenses that have that little "set" screw....sad I know this

Again, as listed in my signature, I'm going to get rid of an 88 LXi (4dr auto-blue)soon-prob this summer- so if there are "other" things you are needing and can't find, send me a PM and we can see what we can work out.
