89 2.0 L cold weather starting problem
I have an 89 2.0 L, carbureted, manual trans. In cold weather ( -5 deg. C )
or colder, I have intermittent starting problems. It turns over and won't fire. It sounds like it's not getting fuel. It has a new fuel filter, plugs, cap and rotor. It also occasionally idles very high ( up to 3,000 rpm ), but also just in cold weather. I replaced the thermostat and seems to have helped the idle issue, but I'm not sure if it is completely solved. Any ideas??????

Are you sure the choke is set properly...remember since it is a carb, there is fuel in the bowl......
Idle, does it go down on its own...these darn things will cold ilde at something like 2,500....now if it hangs there then I would look into the fast idle unloader....check the manual for how to test....I'd offer a new choke stat but someone in Canada stole mine.........Lee B, he lived in the Vancoover(? I can't spell) area
