I have an 89 accord LXI with the 2.0 12valve Engine. The camshaft is broken and needs replacement. I found one on rockauto but it says the fitment is only for the DX model. What's the difference when it comes to engine components? Could I use the cam for the DX mode in the LXI? Also, when I'm in there replacing the camshaft, what other things should I check and replace? Valves, bearings, seals?

 

The spec's are different - lift and that. I honestly don't know what difference it will make.

Me I'd be concerned with "why" did it break?

If you have the means, I would pull it and have a machine shop check/rebuild it.
