89 accord overheating

Default 89 accord overheating

Son called me said the car was steaming.Told him to shut off.Had a look low on coolant,topped up and got home.Check and fans not coming on at hot temp,Changed sensor still no difference,but found crack in top of Rad.Changed Rad today and thermostat and fans still don't come on.Ran wire from where sensor plugs in (jumper ) and fans kick in(second sensor)Can't figure it out any help would be great Thanks Rick

Check your fuses and relays.

Dx Lx or LXi? there are 2 different schematics

It is a model LX,checked fuses OK,Dont no how to check relays.

Check out the 'Do it Yourself' section. On the second page of listings there is a write up on things to check if you're overheating.

well why don't you try just jumpering the one sensor at a time. Like go to the radiator sensor first and jumper it and see what happens.

if you got the 2 wires jumped together at the sensor located at bottom of radiator and fans come on( engine warm, car running , and as you said both upper and lower radiator hoses hot ) ,, you got a bad sensor , get 1 from Honda and replace it ,,,,,,

if the top hose is cool or warm , while the bottom is hot , than you got a stuck closed t-stat ( t-stat located on top hose )..
