Welcome to HAF.

Can we assume this is an LXi - fuel injected

Was this a code 6 (six flashes from the led under the seat)? Which switch did you replace....there are a few of them

Which, where was this "switch".....the TW sensor is on the t-stat housing - where the upper hose connects to the engine.

From there, there are two connectors. One is green in color and the other is white (maybe yellow because of age).

Might download a manual for this car - it will help if we need to get into tracing wires to the ECU - https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...threads-40780/

Get the one for the 86 Accord, it comes with a few updates as well.

The TW/ECT is the white one...

The green one - closest to the pass side - is ONE of the cooling fan switches.

The one for the gauge is the "single" wire one almost 90 degrees of the green plug..pointing towards the firewall.

Also, if you loose any amount of coolant be sure to use the bleeder to remove said "air" from the system.

That sounds like an issue.....on both the 88LXi and 89 LXi I have they are the other way around......now to know if the switches are reversed or are they pluged into the wrong one.......which would cause the code 6 and also cause the fan not to come on when the car is shut off.

Have a volt meter, a pan of water and a bit of time? One is a simple switch, on is a thermal resistor.

I can't remember the "length" of the probes.

Do you have a volt meter to measure the resistance on the pins on the switches?
