Default 8th Gen - Sirius XM stops working

Factory XM. No nav. I have owned this 2011 since 2014. Bought Certified Used from dealer with 24k on the Odo. XM has been working fine from the beginning. All of a sudden a couple days ago I start the car and no XM. XM button doesn't even respond to input. All other buttons respond fine. FM, AM, CD/AUX... Pulled out of the driveway and it came on. So I thought it was a reception thing sitting in driveway under a tree. Then yesterday XM went out while I was driving listening to it and would not come back on. Not a reception thing. Today ... working fine.

Any ideas? TIA

A little more information about your car may help. Is this a 4-cyl or V6? Trim level, like EX-L, etc...

The XM stereo unit is in the trunk of your car. Looks like passenger side on the 4-cyl. Location might vary depending on the model and is why I asked.

I'd start simple and look at the electrical connector to the XM unit for any signs of corrosion, loose pins, damaged wiring near the connector.

Thanks for the reply. My 2011 Accord is V6 EXL.

Looks like the xm is in the same location (passenger side trunk).

So what do I do, just start ripping up the trunk felt on the passenger's side? I have no idea.

It is likely behind the interior panel. I'd suggest getting the shop manual for your car. I think automanualsource.com goes through the 2010 V6 that is the same generation as your accord that should be almost identical. The $22 is worth the investment for any DIY work.
