Default 90 accord; won't start

I just replaced the distributor, all new cap, rotor, coil and all. plugs are new also (autolite) seems to have no spark, getting fuel to the rail loosened the fuel line and got fuel spray with ignition on.what should be the next plan of attack?

replaced them after it wouldn't start leaving work, once they were replaced itstarted once and seemed to be running very well and in the process of checking timing to make sure it was correct it shut down, and from that point it wouldn't restart. thinking maybe i had a fauty unit i replaced it (distributor) since it was new. the distributor came complete.

If no spark at the plugs, I would test the resistance at the coil.

tried that too, unless i did something wrong that was within spec, but i didn't check the igniter because this whole assembly is brand new. I did try to pull codes from the ecu but the check engine didn't flash, the (S ) light was flashing, is this normal i thought this was strange so i stopped for today and will probably go back at it later.

oh forgot to mention the check engine light stays on, could this be associated with the main relay?? where exactly is the main relay anyway, haynes manual says left end dashboard, appears to be several relays there.

oh forgot to mention the check engine light stays on...
Do you mean it stays on solid when you jumpered the connector to check codes? That's what it's supposed to do when there's no stored code.

Or does it stay on solid at all times?

Main relay switches power to ECU, and also switches power to fuel pump. If (#1) the fuel pump runs for 2 seconds when you turn the key on, and (#2) the CEL lights up, then the main relay is doing it's job.

Ground at the T-stat housing clean and tight?
Battery voltage on the Black/yellow wire at the Dist. harness when the key is on?

will check t-stat housing ground.... and the check engine light stays on when the key is left on, and when attempting to retrieve codes, the "S" light blinks when trying to retrieve codes and blinkswhile the key is just in the "on" position not trying to start engine.
