Default 90 Accord radiotor fan clicking on and off rapidly?

Hi everyone, I'm a noob here, and I searched but couldn't find an answer.

My 90 accord recently started having the radiator fan run much more frequently after short use (even on cold days), and has now begun to run erratically. After the car is shut off it the fan will come on for say 5 seconds, off for 2 on for 15, off for 5, etc... When it turns on and off I hear a small clicking sound from up front as well.

Add to this I hear the clicking noise when I'm driving and I stop at red light. It will click erratically like this and the rpm's seem to jump when it clicks and the whole car shudders (vibrates) a bit.

I assume they are connected somehow but I'm not sure where to begin as I'm not a good tech.

Thanks for any ideas anyone might have! cheers!

Lee

You are probably hearing the relay click in the underhood fuse box.
When the key is off and the fan runs, the relay is energized by temp switch 'B' which is located inline with the TOP radiator hose.
If you can "catch it in the act" and unplug that temp switch, that might prove the temp sensor is bad.

The bit about the RPM jumping & the car shuddering makes me wonder if the AC is cycling. On many years the AC is switched on when you select the defroster (not sure about 1990...)

Or maybe the AC is "switched on" by a shorted wire somewhere?
